Travel for Inspiration: Charlottesville

Photo by Collage Artist Megan Coyle

After working just about every day of the week for two months, I finally went on a little weekend getaway. Traveling is often a great source of inspiration for me - I take lots of pictures that I often use as references for future collages.

Ben and I stayed at the Clifton Inn in Charlottesville, Virginia. The scenery was pretty and so was the inn itself. In our room we got a complimentary bottle of wine and fresh fruit.

Our room was part of a larger house with a common room for other guests as well as a kitchen and dining area. I liked the rustic look of the decor.

The dining room table had a bowl of fresh fruit every day and in the background there's a cookie jar on the shelf that always had fresh cookies. They were delicious - and just the thing I needed for my sweet tooth.

We had lovely weather this weekend - and I took plenty of pictures of the green scenery.

Ben snuck a few pictures of me when we were strolling about.

We stopped by a couple of vineyards for some wine tasting.

And it was nice relaxing in the great outdoors...

On the way home, I took plenty of pictures of the fields we drove past.

All and all, it was a very refreshing weekend. I hope everyone else had a great weekend as well!

ooo that picture of the field stretching out behind the black fence is just the type of scenery I love. Looks like a great place to spend a weekend.

Great pics. Have you ever happened upon 'The Art of Pilgrimage' by Phil Cousineau? I thought of it while read your blog - great insight into wandering time and learning how every journey. Even the ones to the corner gas station can become a sacred journey. In life what we see has a great deal to do with who is looking. I highly recommend it. Keep up the great blog.

Best Regards
