Progress Picture #1: Reading Room

I've gotten started on another figurative piece. My goal is to finish at least sixteen new pieces before the first exhibition so I can have a different body of work on display for each figurative solo show. So I've got quite a bit of work ahead of me. Here's the first progress picture of the latest piece, "Reading Room":

I also had a chance to work on another batch of handmade magnets. I'm going to take pictures of different sets of magnets so I can add them to my Etsy shop. All my exhibition preparations have been keeping me pretty busy and I haven't been as attentive as I'd like to be with my Etsy shop.

And yesterday I woke up and managed to pull a muscle in my neck. I was a little frustrated about that because I wanted to get some work done and go out to a couple of get-togethers that were going on. So instead I had to force myself to stay in and hobble about, trying to take it easy so my neck can heal. Ben made my night by running off to the store and showing up with Easter candy, a heating pad, and some take-out from my favorite Chinese restaurant.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend - I'm off to do some volunteer work now, and then of course, there will be lots of resting.

Love this work in progress picture! There is something very interesting about the vibrantly colored background and the pencil line figure in the chair.
