Trip to NYC: Wandering the City

I'm back from my weekend getaway - and now I'm well equipped with plenty of photographs for inspiration. I'm a bit tired from all of the walking and excitement, but now I'm creatively refreshed and ready to get started on some new works of art.

We spent some time wandering the city when we arrived - taking a look at the ice skaters at Rockefeller Center.

We went into a few stores to stay warm - I liked the packaging on these chocolates in one of the shops.

We visited the MOMA - this is a detail image of one of the pieces of furniture in the design section.

Then we made our way to the Tim Burton exhibit - it was packed! I can't remember the last time I went to an exhibition that was as crowded as this one. It was great getting a chance to see some of his rough sketches as well as his more polished works of art. He's got quite the imagination!

I love the textures of some of buildings that I found in a few alleyways.

The Chinese New Year parade was going on this past Sunday - we went to grab some Dim Sum in Chinatown and got caught up in the crowds. We decided to buy some of the confetti poppers and set them off - here are a few of them in action.

Finished our NYC experience with a cannoli from Caffe Palermo in Little Italy. It was delicious.

Then after waiting an hour in the cold to catch our bus that was running late, we were off and on our way home.
