while enjoying a view of some d.c. snow.

And then paged through a couple more art books. So far I think my favorites are:
- Taking the Leap by Cay Lang - has plenty of info on framing art, putting on your own exhibitions, shipping artwork, legal information, as well as a lot of artist resources and organizations listed in the back.
- Art / Work by Heather Darcy Bhandari and Jonathan Melber - has some information similar to Cay Lang's book but also has lots of great samples of contracts for artists working on commission work, galleries, etc.
- The Artist's Guide by Jackie Battenfield - shares several similarities with the other books as far as topics covered go, but it does have some helpful information on grant writing and ways to fund your art.
- How to Survive and Prosper as an Artist by Carol Michels - helpful info on health insurance, putting on exhibitions, and has several lists of artist organizations.

Thanks for posting your favorite books! I am going to check them out. I heard DC got lots of snow. Super fun there when it snows- every thing shuts down!
