Finished for Now

"Self Posed in front of Pink"
18"x24"
Collage on paper

So I decided I'm finished with this for now. It looks slightly like me--I've realized that I've always had trouble doing self-portraits. It's so much easier to create works of other people. Perhaps this is because I assume I know what I look like, and therefore I have trouble getting the details down right. I might return to this at a later time, but for now, I've decided I'm done.

Hi, this "paper-painting" looks really great. First I thought its an photography edited with photoshop or a real painting. I had to look twice.

best regards

i think it is so great - the small details are amazing - eyeliner, lips, strand of hair. i think you look very pensive, which seems to be in keeping with your feelings about doing self-portraits.

it's wonderful! self portraits are so interesting... we come to them knowing so much about ourselves yet this somehow makes it harder.

I really love the "Getting Started" image...I know it was unfinished...but there was something about it!!!

this is brilliant! i too always struggle with self portraits, i think we see ourselves inside and out, so it can be so hard to do :)

Remarkable. A most thought-provoking expression on the face....lost in thought, or intense concentration....

I hope your creativity springs back better than ever...enjoy your break...
